Top Five Funny Trivia About Animals

There are many fascinating facts about animals, some of which are
even humorous. There are thousands of species of animals and insects, so
it’s not surprising that some of them have genetic make ups or habits
that seem somewhat funny to humans. With that being said, here is a list
of the top five funny (and maybe even bizarre) trivia about animals.

- Cats have over a hundred different vocal sounds. Some of them
are even at such a low frequency than humans can hear. Some experts
believe it’s the extremely low frequency sounds that are the most
natural for cats to make, and that they themselves even realize
this. Thus, they will adapt and make different sounds when trying to
communicate to us when they’re feeling affectionate, anger, hungry,
fear, contentment, etc.
- The deadliest sea creature is NOT a shark, but a jelly fish!
Certain types of jelly fish kill more people than all the species of
sharks put together. One deadly species of jelly fish in particular,
the Irukandji, can be found north of Australia during autumn and
spring months.
- The male Darwin frog actually swallows the female’s eggs and
keeps them secured in a sac underneath his chin until it’s time for
them to be “born”. He’ll then open his mouth to let the tadpoles out
when they’re big enough!
- You may already know that dogs have a very keen sense of smell.
In fact, their sense of smell is one of the strongest in nature. If
you take out, unfold, and lay out all the membranes from inside a
dog’s nose, you’ll see that they’re bigger than the dog itself!
- It’s been reported by the National Geographic that the egg came
first. Seriously. Apparently, reptiles were laying eggs millions of
years before chickens ever walked the earth. The very first chicken
is believed to have come from an egg by another bird. Even stranger,
it’s believed that chickens are the closest living creature that is
most like the tyrannosaurus rex.
